Engineer-Electronic (Biotech)
POSITION OVERIVEW
The Grid Integration Systems, and Mobility Group (GISMo) at SLAC is currently seeking a staff engineer to develop and grow in a unique and exciting environment. GISMo staff conduct research in the building/vehicle to grid integration and grid stability under high penetration of distributed energy resources and power electronics interfaced devices.
The Engineer-Electronic will report directly to the GISMo manager in the Applied Energy Program, and function as a member of the GISMO team. In this role, the Engineer-Electronic is expected to serve as a primary source of engineering support, responsible for power system control modeling and design, hardware development, software programming, and embedded systems and power electronics installation and testing. The Engineer-Electronic will lead engineering research and development, planning and executing modification and upgrades to existing facilities, and ensuring that engineering activities and instrumentation adhere to SLAC policies and procedures. In addition, the Engineer-Electronic will be an integrated member of the Applied Energy Program and provide leadership, project support, subject matter expertise and contribute to the overall expansion and improvement of the Program's capabilities.

Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience building renewable energy system power electronic, including:
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the form of a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years' experience building renewable energy system power electronic including:
