Essential Functions The Internal Audit Data Analyst is responsible for supporting Internal Audit throughout all phases of the audit process (i.e., scoping, planning, execution and reporting). This position will actively drive the integration of data analytics and associated data visualizations into internal audit projects in order to deliver innovative, insightful, and actionable analyses to improve efficiency of monitoring and identifying audit risks. • Support Audit team objectives by testing control effectiveness and other audit activities with the use of data analytics.
• Build upon existing framework of data analytics and develop dashboards and advanced visualizations to help Internal Audit and operations proactively and continuously monitor and identify risks.
• Identify sources of data across audit areas and develop efficient techniques to access and query the data, including areas where data analytics were not previously used.
• Facilitating ad-hoc analytics requests and data acquisition, to support internal audit, special projects, and investigations.
• Collaborate with the business and IT to understand and document the process flow (including individuals, applications, and data sets involved) for transactions and/or control execution.
• Assist in the identification of areas where data analytics can be used to increase efficiencies without compromising the quality of work being performed.
• Work with the Director of Internal Audit and operations management to identify meaningful dashboards for use in the business and assist management with their monitoring activities. •
Work with the Director of Internal Audit to identify areas where data analytics can either supplement or replace current audit practices. • Development of analytics specific to fraud detection.
• Perform other audit duties as necessary to support the overall annual audit plan.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelors Degree in Economics, Statistic, Math, Business Analytics or relevant related field.
Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience analyzing large data set through the use of data analytics.
Comfortable with accounting and finance terminology; ability to understand audit risks, methods and procedures.
Previous experience with data analytics and visualization software (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, IDEA, etc.)
Experience working with Oracle a plus but not required
License/Certificates:
If not already obtained, required to obtain CIA or Data Analytics certificate within the first 3 years

• Innovative mindset enabling use of software, business knowledge and data analytical skills to identify business risks.
• Ability to effectively analyze the results of data analytics being performed, evaluate the need for, and perform, additional follow-up to bring findings to a conclusion for presentation to the Director of Internal Audit.
• While respected for their independent role, viewed as a business partner in the right circumstances.
• Assess the impact of observations and present them in a persuasive and confident manner. Write clear, concise, nd meaningful reports and issue summaries .
• Demonstrate professional curiosity with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to learn new skills as needed.
• As the internal audit data analyst, access to sensitive information and interaction with operations/finance management occurs on a regular basis. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or educational equivalent. 4 years experience. Comprehensive knowledge of finance principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills. Comprehensive knowledge of spreadsheet applications and finance-related software. CPA preferred. Position Summary Under minimal supervision, conducts and documents the more complex financial analysis projects. Prepares forecasts and analyses trends in general business areas. Performs economic research work and prepares analysis of subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investment and financial and expense performance comparisons.
