Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Software Developer to join our IT team at Allied World. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications and solutions that support our insurance business. As a key technical resource, you will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while mentoring junior developers and driving technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex software applications that support business objectives.

·  Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.

·   Architect scalable, efficient, and secure solutions for web and software applications.

·   Write, review, and optimize clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.

·   Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and code reviews.

·   Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve critical application issues in a timely manner.

·   Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and processes to improve team productivity and system performance.

·   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with other business systems.

·   Ensure adherence to software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, including testing, deployment, and documentation.

·  Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Skills and Requirements:

·       5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.

·    2+ years of experience in Appian development, with experience in BPM applications and leading teams for senior roles

·       Technical Skills: Proficiency in Appian Designer, SAIL, Process Modeler, and data modeling.

·   Strong understanding of REST and SOAP webservices with experience integrating Appian with other various platforms

·       Solid understanding of Appian architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.

·       Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

·   Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·       Experience with Agile Methodologies and working in fast-paced environments.

Additional Preferred skills:

o   Experience with web development frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, .NET, or similar) is a plus

o   Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture is a plus.

o   Expertise with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

·       Certification: Associated Developer certification is a plus

·       Prior experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus.

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
