Operations Support I (Government)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Able to read and understand Samuel's engineering drawings and finishing specifications.
• Maintain knowledge of company safety rules and take an active role in enforcement of those rules. 
• Work with all levels of management in the Lean manufacturing and constant improvement program.
• Must be able to work with basic hand tools (both power & manual), tape measures, levels, calipers, micrometer, thread gauges, and other test and measurement equipment as needed.
•  Must be able to follow a schedule to know what jobs need to be rounded up and put through the blaster to meet our on time starts for final assembly.
• Must know how to fill out all required in line reports.
• Make sure shop floor employees have work at all times.
• When needed must be responsible for the blasting of raw materials, and finished products, blackjack, or metallic grit. The blaster prepares a variety of parts for painting or assembly by grit blasting.
• When needed must be responsible to run the break press. 
• Work with purchasing on making sure we have the correct material for all shop orders. 
• Coordinate with others, including other manufacturing personnel.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

• Basic hand tools (both manual and power).
• Basic Welding Techniques.
• Must know how to drive a fork lift. 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.  
• Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
• Must have a basic understanding of computers.
• Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
• Must be able to read blue prints.
• Good communication skills.
• Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment. 

Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
