Sr Financial Analyst (Marketing)
•Assist with reviewing accounting requirements for the company's defined benefit pension plans, OPEB plans, workers compensation and other employee benefit plans.
•Assist with the review of the company's annual valuation reports of benefit plans and analyze information presented in the actuarial valuations for accounting.
•Prepare the annual financial statements for the company's defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
•Prepare monthly income statement
•Prepare whitepapers for routine and nonroutine employee benefit related matters.
•Assist with calculation of equity compensation and diluted shares outstanding
•Monitor standard setting activities at the FASB, SEC, ERISA, PBGC, DOL, and other regulatory bodies as they relate to accounting matters and report their implications.
•Assist with preparation of the company's annual (Form 10-K) and quarterly (Form 10-Q) consolidated financial statements, which are electronically filed with the SEC via EDGAR. Assist in preparing and reviewing XBRL exhibits for SEC filings for Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
•Analyze the balance sheet and income statement to identify accounting and/or reporting practices that may not be in accordance with US GAAP, SEC rules and regulations and/or company accounting policies.
•Work with Corporate Finance, Corporate Treasury, Corporate Tax, and other functions, as necessary to ensure proper and timely reporting for quarter and year-end.
•Assist with monthly close and preparation of journal entries.
•Assist with accounting and review of certain account balances.
•Work directly with internal and external auditors to provide analysis and any required audit documentation necessary for the successful completion of any audit.
•Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance and management self-testing.
•BS or BA degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
•3+ years of progressive experience in accounting required
•Previous experience in public accounting required
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Cognitive ability to prepare analysis, reports and presentations using various software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•Possesses strong technical accounting and reporting skills
