Sr Fin Inst Policy Analyst II - Monetary Affairs (Finance)
Detailed knowledge of financial institutions and markets, including broker-dealers, hedge funds, shadow banking activities, financial innovations, and the impact of prudential regulations on financial markets and monetary policy transmission. Proficiency in economic principles and data analysis normally acquired through completion of a master degree or doctoral degree in finance, economics, business administration, public policy, mathematics, statistics, or other related fields. Some background in data science and certifications such as CFA, CPA are a plus. Knowledge of the Federal Reserve's conventional and unconventional monetary policies, and how such policies impact financial institutions and markets. Ability to undertake and contribute to standard division responsibilities, such as financial stability monitoring, writing historical minutes and Tealbook. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the financial sector and/or at policy institutions, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Very strong analytic and communications skills and ability to work well in group settings as a leader or group member. Expert in use of statistical analysis and presentation software.
It is preferred that the selected candidate has the following:
-Significant experience in analyzing nonbank financial institutions, including broker-dealers and hedge funds, and their shadow banking activities
-Broad experience in monetary policy and financial stability
-Demonstrated ability to distill complex information and identify appropriate options or solutions for decision makers
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and solve problems in a collaborative fashion
-Willingness to collaborate with economists on in-depth policy and research projects related to financial stability and the conduct of monetary policy
-Willingness to do some travel.
