Carondelet Park Rec/Child Care/Childwatch Attendant/Part Time (Project Management)
Activities - Implement developmentally appropriate activities that focus on each child's individual needs. Ensure activities, materials and toys are age appropriate.
Physical Environment - A sufficient quantity of materials and equipment is provided for the number of children enrolled. Materials and toys are kept in good repair. Broken or missing equipment is reported to the Nursery Coordinator
Staff and Child Interaction - Interact frequently with the children individually and in small groups. Staff seeks meaningful conversations with the children, acknowledging their work, talking about event of importance, etc. Staff listens to children more than they talk. Staff facilitates social interaction and involvement in activities. Activities are more children directed than staff directed. Staff treats children with respect and consideration, regardless of their sex, race, religion, family background, physical or mental stability. The staff will plan ahead to prevent problem situations from occurring. They anticipate where they need to be and what they need to do. Children are in the proximity of the staff at all times. Staff can quickly reach a child and/or situation to prevent harm to a child. Staff provides opportunity for independence and self-help skills in children, as they are ready.
Behavior Management - Establish supportive relationships with children and implement developmentally appropriate techniques or behavior management and group management. Use both verbal and non-verbal communication with children to build trusting and stable relationships. Set and communicate limits for acceptable behavior.
Parent Communication and Involvement - Strong communication skills are used on a daily basis to keep parents informed about child's accomplishments or concerns. Parents are greeted daily and treated with respect and dignity.
