MAILROOM TELLER (Maintenance)
Processes all incoming mail utilizing the US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, and other courier services. This includes Sorting, Opening, Distributing and recording of items received. Prepares postage for outgoing foreign and domestic mail following US Postal Regulations as well as recording and tracking of interoffice deliveries within Capitol Federal. Manual postings of account Deposits, Loans, and other miscellaneous receipts received by mail. Performance of various bookkeeping, check signing, check imaging, clerical and other teller functions and Customer Service Representative related duties including Safe Deposit Box openings, closings, and account ownership changes as required.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
1. 20%Receives, Opens, Sorts and distributes all mail delivered by couriers including: Standard USPS, FedEx, UPS, Certified, Priority, Express, and interoffice courier dispatch.
2. 20%Records all receipts of cash and checks, posts retail deposits, loan payments and miscellaneous receipts received by mail. Completion of Cash Box Balancing daily.
3. 20%Prepares outgoing foreign and domestic mail by sealing, weighing, and the postage metering and bundling of all items. Processing and tracking of outgoing special delivery services including: FedEx, UPS, and Certified, Priority, and Express overnight delivery mail.
4. 10%Processes check signing distributions and handles check 21 responsibilities.
5. 10%Handles returned mail including the sorting of, customer contact, account maintenance and processing of required documentation. Also monitors the secured storing of returned mail until customer contact and maintenance is made.
6. 10%Processes the Opening and closing of lock boxes, and completing ownership changes as required. Ensuring all documentation is procured and stored appropriately.
7. 10%Prepares all outgoing interoffice delivery, including the security of and documentation in tracking software for courier handling.
8. —Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and adhere to bank policies and procedures, including the completion of internal bank compliance testing.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Some physical exertion required for pushing carts of mail and occasional bending and lifting between 5 and 50 lb. packages. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in case of emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including CRT's, personal computers, postage meter, check signer, check scanner, check encoder, receipt printer, telephone, copier, printer, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work areas consisting of Moderate Noise. Some exposure to all possible outdoor weather conditions.
