The Financial Management Group is looking for a strategic, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for managing the Bank's Financial Accounting function. This position offers applicants with demonstrated financial accounting, reporting and communication skills the opportunity to support the organization through management of relevant business processes, analyses, and technology focused assignments.
Primary responsibilities include:
Manages daily financial accounting processes and related analytical support provided to departments, business functions, or product offices.
Manages the design, development, and analysis of annual, quarterly, monthly, and daily financial reporting for internal audiences including department and senior management, the Bank Board of Directors, the Board of Governors, and the Bank's Annual Report to the public.
Ensures that accounting transactions conform to generally accepted accounting principles, Federal Reserve System's Financial Accounting Manual, cost accounting manual, custody control principles and standards, and Bank policies.
Manages, serves as project manager, or participates in ongoing analyses, design implementation, and maintenance of Department, District, and System-wide processes and automated systems.
Represents FRB Minneapolis on Federal Reserve System accounting-related work groups providing input and feedback into System-wide initiatives.
Manages assessing Financial Accounting's effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) under Auditing Standard No. 5 (AS 5). Manages documentation of internal control processes and compiles support for testing by internal and external auditors.
Leads and guides staff in resolving accounting questions or issues from both internal and external customers. Designs and implements efficient and effective solutions to business problems.
Guides staff through process to recommend and test financial accounting system enhancement implementations, which may include coordinating activities such as developing plans, completing risk assessments, delegating work assignments, monitoring and reporting progress, training, and preparing necessary communications for a variety of audiences.
Develops, motivates, and evaluates performance of staff, which includes supervising staff to identify developmental assignments and training opportunities, working with individuals on their career goals, delegating responsibilities, providing timely feedback and evaluating performance on any of the preceding duties.
