Director, Wholesale Origination East (Project Management)
Lead the identification of new origination prospects, propose outreach strategy for all products and technologies under development, including key customer messaging
Work with Inside Sales, Lead Generation and Account Management teams in the development of the ideal customer profile while defining the value proposition by asset for Utility and C&I offtakes
Direct pricing sensitivities based on customer goals/priorities in alignment with project model underwriting assumptions
Actively manage and build relationships with existing and new customers in the IOU, CCA (as appropriate) Muni and Co-op market segments
Lead the negotiation of long term power sale agreements with wholesale offtake to support the financing and build out of new renewable energy projects
Oversee the internal support teams though all aspects of the complex sales process to closing:
Evaluate requests for bids and assist with bid preparation
Provide market views on competitiveness for RFPs, leading the negotiation and structuring of revenue contracts, whether physical or financial
Develop offtake outreach plans and positioning to the market, including ITC, PTC strategy, market penetration strategy, analysis of markets, financing, etc.
Conduct research into customers' businesses and energy procurement activities and develop initial ideas for CLEARWAY offerings
Lead pricing and proposal strategies to customers
Oversee the preparation of proposals and presentation materials for customers and buyers
Maintain customer records in Salesforce.com
Contribute to wholesale strategy outlook:
Provide input to routine power market analysis of the policies that will impact market structure, and either increase/decrease supply base, or alter load/demand
Participate in energy working groups, professional organizations, trade shows & conferences
Seek opportunities and deal structures that allow for bilateral transactions with customers
Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of wind and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers
Anticipate major procurement events and industry news, including RFPs and integrated resource plans, keeping the team informed as well as synthesizing content and suggesting potential offerings
Provide offtake analysis on new M&A acquisition opportunities based on customer demand and value proposition
Exhibit expertise and continual growth of knowledge in power markets and act as a resource to the M&A and Development teams
Location: Preference for East Coast, option to be located at Clearway office in Princeton, NJ
Working Conditions:
Approximately 60-70% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Up to 30-40% of the time is spent onsite with clients, partners, counterparties and trade shows creating and executing on business opportunities. Fulfills all delegated tasks, many of which may be loosely associated with the primary assignment of the job description.
