Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a machine operator to join our Pharmachem Laboratories business at our Ogden, UT. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the manufacturing process. This position will report to production manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Must maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Must have knowledge of the location and use of Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Must be able to operate one of the following: blenders, high shear mixers, fluid bed granulators, roll compactors, bottling line, stick pack machine.
  • Must comply with current GMPs.
  • Must be able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work well with others and create a positive work environment.
  • Must be able to train and instruct your team members to work efficiently, effectively, and safely.
  • Must be able to properly set-up and tear down equipment for cleaning.  
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Must know how to properly use production scales (gross, tare, net).
  • Must have a working knowledge of vibratory sifters and milling equipment.
  • Must be able to identify materials by description, item number, lot number.
  • Must understands the procedures for proper handling of allergens and organic materials to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Must be able to perform necessary testing procedures for particle size, moisture analysis, flow properties, and density.
  • Must understand the proper procedures for packaging of finished materials.
  • Verify production rooms and equipment are properly cleaned and room logs are up to date.
  • Work assignments may change as needed.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • High school/GED- Preferred
  • Food Handlers permit
  • Powder/Dust in excessive amounts – Respirator use required.
  • Will be required to pass a physical, audiogram, vision and Pulmonary Function test.
