Operator (Finance)
Utilize practice management software to perform his/her specific duties
Primary resource for all incoming calls
Direct all incoming calls to appropriates staff/department based on pertinent information received from caller
Answer/Return phone calls within acceptable time frames
Maintains a pleasant, cooperative demeanor while performing all duties
Update account information in the practice management system as necessary
Retrieve and direct messages from general voicemail box and after hours call service to the appropriate staff member
Notify Team Lead or Operations Manager of issues interfering with department operations
May be asked to maintain logs for statistical follow-up of phone activity
Will act as backup to Referral Coordinator role
Other:
Follows all applicable department and practice policies and procedures
Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice
Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job function
Attends all regular meetings
Performs other duties as required and assigned by the Operations Manager or Team Lead
Typical Physical Demands
The employee is required to sit for prolonged periods of the time and must be able to use hands and fingers to handle and to feel and arms to reach. The employee must be able to talk on the phone, hear and listen and be understood by the majority of the public. The employee may be occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift/and or move up to 10-15 pounds.
Typical Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office environment. Work involves frequent contact with staff, patients, and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.
