Our patients require a full spectrum of complex medical and surgical management, including the state's only neonatal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) center. At the heart of our neonatal care team, our NICU nurses provide care to neonates of varying diagnoses, including extreme prematurity, as well as illnesses of the respiratory, cardiac, neurologic, gastrointestinal, renal/urologic, skeletal, and metabolic systems.
The NICU currently provides care for up to 32 patients in our state of the art, single-room design unit. Future planning for the unit includes implementation of a Special Delivery Center for neonates with known congenital anomalies.
