RN – Procedure – Echo/Vascular Lab – 100%FTE,Day - University Hospital and TAC (2190) (Healthcare)

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to: - Engage in acquiring new skills and participating on a procedural team that participates in utilizing cutting edge technology in the field of ultrasound. - Perform procedures that include; treadmill only stress testing, dobutamine and stress echo echocardiography, tilt tables and transesophageal echocardiograms. - Work collaboratively with the sonography team to administer contrast enhancement to improve patient outcomes. - Join fellow nurses to work as a team and help one another succeed. - Support an environment that incorporates a patient and family focus into the procedural experience. - Join a department that provides coverage at both University Hospital and UW Health at The American Center. Education: Minimum - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Work Experience: Minimum - Two (2) years of recent ED or cardiology experience with tele certification or one (1) year of recent critical care experience. Preferred - Two (2) years recent critical care experience. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin. BLS and ACLS certification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively delegate and supervise the work of other team members. - Excellent cardiopulmonary clinical assessment and documentation skills. - Ability to document and communicate accurate patient observations, care, and outcomes of care. - Knowledge of the effects of medications and ability to observe and report the same. - Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area. - Ability to perform effectively in an emergency situation. - Ability to make decisions and solve problems relating to patient care within defined standards and with minimal supervision. - Experience in teaching patients and families. - Possess knowledge and skills required to effectively care with patients in the following age groups: adolescents, middle, young and older adults. - Experience performing conscious sedation under limited supervision required. Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. W ork Schedule: This is a Day shift position, with eight (8) hour shifts Monday through Friday. Variable start time at 7:30AM, 8:00AM or 8:30AM. No weekend or holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.
