Environmental Scientist, Industrial Hygienist, Geologist, or Engineer (Finance)
Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Industrial Hygienist, Geologist, or Engineer for their Kansas City, Missouri office to provide support on various environmental projects. This position will support a variety of contracts, including federal, state, local, and commercial clients. Duties will include field sampling and investigations, report writing, proposal writing and may require extensive outdoor work as well as frequent overnight travel.
Six to eight years of environmental consulting, and industrial hygiene experience is required. Previous experience with conducting asbestos, lead-based paint and mold surveys, remediation oversight, air monitoring and remediation design; task management, Phase I and II environmental site assessments and investigations, field sampling, RCRA and CERCLA regulatory requirements, and report writing is required.
Must have strong oral and written communication, client relations, and organizational skills. Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well both independently and in a team environment. Must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload and travel as needed. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel required. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check.
B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering required. Advanced degrees preferred. Current EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification, EPA Lead Inspector certification required. PG, CHMM, NIOSH 582, EPA Lead Risk Assessor, Missouri Air Sampling Professional or other certifications are desirable. 40-hour OSHA training with Hazmat required.
Must be able to lift sample coolers and other equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear full-face respirator and complete annual medical monitoring program, including pulmonary function testing. Project work could occur nationwide, but most will be in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, or Nebraska. Outdoor work will be required, and overnight travel may be necessary for up to a week at a time.
