Job Duties: under supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer, plan, design, operate, and maintain construction projects and systems; maintain building structures including preparation and review of concrete construction designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints and related documentation to identify potential issues and troubleshoot same using knowledge of means and methods of construction, crane rigging and specialty building codes; apply knowledge of engineering stress analysis to calculate safety factors with regard to site-cast concrete construction; develop and analyze crane rigging patterns for suitability; devise plans for and participate in product testing, including data analysis and results reporting; program warehouse and manufacturing computerized machinery to automate production processes; prepare construction projects schedules, and cost and resources estimates; conduct on-site inspections and review and analyze related data; assess potential project risks and develop plans to mitigate same; carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications and end user requirements; monitor construction project status, manage related budgets, and expenditures including equipment and materials purchases; and prepare project reports.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Work Experience Requirements: Two (2) years of professional work experience in civil or structural engineering including ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering working drawings in order to detail specific items for field laborers to facilitate construction; finite element stress analysis modeling and Computer Automated Drawing techniques using AutoCad software; and use of structural programs, tools, and applications to conduct structural analysis and material testing.
Special Requirements: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination passed.
