Early Head Start Mentor Coach (Personal Services)
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Volunteers of America is a federally and stated funded comprehensive early childhood education program with a focus on child development that includes a child's cognitive, physical and social emotional growth and development. The program fosters Family Engagement in all areas of a child's development and provides comprehensive resources to low income families in the areas of health, nutrition and community resources.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Mentor-Coach will provide teaching staff with individualized coaching and support to enhance the quality of early childhood classroom services. The Mentor-coach will provide ‘hands on support' to teaching staff as additional professional development. The Mentor-Coach works in collaboration with the Education Service Area, including Center Child Development Coordinators who directly supervise teaching staff and develop the Professional Development Goals. Professional development goals support the School Readiness Goals for all children enrolled with Volunteers of America. Mentor coaching will be aligned to assessment data from DRDP, ECERs, ASQ-SE and any other sources selected by Administration. The agency commits to provide all children with a learning environment and the varied experience, which will help them, develop skills and knowledge to support School Readiness. We integrate all learning domains of the Head Start Early Learning Framework, and CA State Preschool Leaning Foundations in the daily program of activities.
