We are currently looking for a Public Relations Manager based at our Central West headquarters in Deerfield, IL.
Job Summary: The Public Relations Manager will report to the National Director, Public Relations & Social Media. The Public Relations Manager is responsible for supporting the National Director in the day-to-day oversight and management of the public relations (PR) teams and PR agencies for the Coldwell Banker branded operations of NRT. This position assists in the development and implementation of public relations strategies to position and promote national, regional, and local operating company leadership, and affiliated sales associates to various publics. The role is responsible for ensuring that content, messaging, and media placement efforts meet all legal parameters. Employee assists National Director with the implementation of crisis communications plans. The PR Manager is also tasked with providing support to local operating company Presidents and Branch Managers as needed for local media efforts that help build the image and perception of the brand locally. This role oversees the efforts of the PR Coordinator, Specialist and Sr. Specialist, and implements public relations plans for the promotion of events held for sales associates such as award celebrations, office openings, fundraisers for charitable organization, and celebratory events for developer clients such as groundbreakings, topping off ceremonies, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive public relations strategies as developed by National Director to position and promote company leadership from the national, regional and local level and sales associates to support the Agent Value Proposition/Core 4 values. - This includes creating and utilizing such tools as press releases and creating template messaging, media press kits for LOCs.
Meet with senior leadership, sales associates, and their clients to present public relations plans and work with National Director to act as a liaison between media, sales associates, and senior management.
Develop communications regarding brand wide news and media talking points to suit LOC's needs. This also involves spokesperson preparation and guidance for media interviews.
Advise National Director of potential media crises situations and manage as necessary.
Ensure direct reports are providing a high level of service to the field with the development and facilitation of media releases and advisories to targeted media.
Prepare leadership and sales associates for interviews with coaching, talking points, backgrounders, etc.
Ensure that media placement is maintained and monitored.
Develop relationships with media at a national level and be an advisor and strategic guide for direct reports when engaging media.
Review team's ghostwritten editorials and positioning statements on behalf of LOC Presidents and sales associates for accuracy and message consistency.
Work with National Director to publicize public relations efforts and responsibilities internally to key audiences such as LOC Presidents and agents across the organization.
Present PR services and capabilities so that internal constituents know how best to take advantage of PR efforts and team services.
Assist the National Director in supporting the media relations needs of NRT corporate leadership and various operational departments.
Ensure appropriate releases are available on news section of site. Ensure releases are posted consistently on media pages on CBHomes.com and NRTLLC.
Lead team meetings and act as first point of contact when National Director is unavailable. Work with Realogy Communications and Brand PR when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science in communications, journalism or related field. A concentration in public relations is preferred.
7+ Years of experience in public relations, corporate communications and social media in a corporate and/or agency setting.
Must know communication planning, AP-style writing, and have strong media relationships across multiple channels.
Team management experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and can effectively communicate across multiple platforms and to numerous constituents.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Use sound logical judgment to choose an appropriate course of action.
Has the flexibility to change direction quickly when facts so warrant.
Evaluate risks, consequences and interests of those affected by decisions.
Proficient with MC Office suite of products, and online social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn.
Must be proficient with media monitoring software services.
