Project Manager (Finance)
The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight and management of assigned capital projects, including new building and renovation projects. For all construction projects, the Project Manager determines user needs, defines the scope of professional services, manages the development of construction drawings and specifications, coordinates field work and contractor activities, develops contracts, prepares budgets and scope of work, sources all necessary resources, and ensures quality and execution of all projects. The Project Manager must maintain a working knowledge of compliance and standards, and make recommendations for enhancements to the project management process. During the design phase of a project, the Project Manager will be managed by the Senior Manager of Planning & Design. This is a project based role and the length of your assignment is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to project workload.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ten plus years of experience in the design/construction industry is preferred. Design/Construction experience in a higher education/campus environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and lead teams of contractors is preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and design standards is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10, Excel, Word, Access, Project, and related programs is preferred. Experience with CPM scheduling is a plus.
