Maintenance Tech III (Finance)



SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of critical electrical, mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. This role also supports the upkeep and optimization of automated equipment, including robotics, PLC-controlled machinery, and other integrated systems used in production. Additional responsibilities include managing spare parts inventory, maintaining accurate CMMS data, minimizing production downtime, mentoring technicians, enhancing equipment reliability, and providing excellent support to internal customers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Independently performs advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of complex production equipment and facility systems, including robotics, PLC-controlled machinery, servo systems, and automated manufacturing equipment. Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage and document Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, ensuring timely completion of preventive and corrective work orders. Leads complex equipment installations, relocations, upgrades, and system integrations in coordination with engineering and operations teams. Diagnoses and repairs electrical circuits, control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical components; interprets electrical schematics, ladder logic, and OEM documentation to resolve equipment failures efficiently. Performs advanced troubleshooting on PLCs, servo drives, sensors, robotics, and industrial automation systems, recommending program or hardware changes as needed. Installs and modifies electrical circuits and control wiring in compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, Hot Work, and PPE safety standards. Develops, reviews, and updates preventive maintenance procedures and technical documentation to support long-term equipment reliability and regulatory compliance. Coordinates with vendors, OEMs, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex maintenance issues and source critical replacement parts. Supports internal technical training by mentoring Level 1 and 2 technicians and sharing knowledge related to advanced equipment and automation systems. Maintains and inspects critical life safety systems including emergency lighting, fire pumps, alarms, extinguishers, and eyewash stations. Upholds all safety regulations and plant standards, ensuring compliance during maintenance tasks and promoting a culture of safety across the team. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, 5S implementation, and lean manufacturing projects to enhance equipment efficiency and uptime. Perform other related duties and supervisory functions as assigned. *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* Supervisory Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent, e.g., vocational training, is required. Associate degree in industrial maintenance preferred. Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment are preferred. Minimum four (4) year -experience troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical equipment in an industrial environment. Minimum two (2) years' experience programming/modifying in RSLogix and Studio 5000 logic controllers. Experience with robotics or other automated manufacturing systems is highly desirable (KUKA and KRL Language preferred). CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certified Electrician preferred. A Forklift Operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program is required within the first 60 days of employment. Possession of a valid driver's license and good driving record. Certifications in PLC programming or industrial automation (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or equivalent) preferred. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. JOB SKILLS Intermediate in MS Office Suite and SharePoint. Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred. In-depth knowledge of electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum, and mechanical systems Advanced troubleshooting skills specific to industrial manufacturing equipment Able to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Proficient in programming with RSLogix and Studio 5000 Familiar with robotics and automated machinery used in advanced manufacturing. Skilled in diagnosing issues through PLC I/O and interpreting electrical schematics Hands-on experience with mechanical disassembly, repair, and reassembly Ability to identify and replace worn components to prevent machine downtime Computer literacy, including CMMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience in a networked environment using enterprise-level systems (e.g., drawing-viewing software) Inventory management and organization experience preferred Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean principles is a plus Strong communication skills across all mediums: verbal, written, electronic, and in-person Ability to clarify complex messages and interpret technical terminology Collaborates effectively across organizational levels and departments Promotes a culture of quality, integrity, respect, and innovation High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong time management and organizational abilities Adaptable to shifting priorities and able to maintain confidentiality Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a positive, proactive mindset Able to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements outlined below indicate those necessary to fulfill this position's core responsibilities. While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and using a ladder may be required. Hearing protection in specific locations. Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas. TRAVEL: Approximately 5% of travel is expected. SALARY INFORMATION: According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $36 and $45 hourly. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline.
