What You'll Get to Do
The Estimator II is focused on architectural shop drawings for shipment of materials and reports to the Estimating Manager.
This role is perfect for an individual who is organized, attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects, and prioritize workload. A vital member of the Estimating Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.
This role will be based onsite in Waxahachie, TX.
Job responsibilities include:
- Be able to read and understand Architectural, Structural and detail drawings.
- Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, material, equipment, and labor estimates involved in assigned products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes.
- Provides preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications.
- Quantify material costs, man-power hourly costs, and sub buy-outs for assigned projects. Lead team in the creation of proposals and bids. Develop bid documents for each project. Prepare detailed take-offs. Present budget and value engineering ideas to owner and design team.
- Provide project details and takeoffs to estimators in a timely manner. Work from architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings and/or elevation take-offs to develop a plan for projects
- Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to our customers, sales force, and internal personnel
What We Are Looking For
- AutoCAD a must to draft designs and prepare drawings.
- Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural drawings, specifications and provide detailed take offs that incorporate different building envelope solutions
- Experience in taking material off for small, mid-size and larger glazing projects from architectural drawings and specifications
- Experience using electronic estimating tools, including estimating software, on-screen take-off tools, optimizing software, and Excel spread sheets.
- Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems & their applications
- Understanding of glass, composite metal panels, and other infill options as well as their applications is a plus.
