Creamery Cheese and Gelato Production Staff (Manufacturing)
We're currently hiring for full time (27-40 hours) or part time 20-27 hours) per week.
Shifts will be eight hours, including typically one weekend day and holidays.
Compensation: $15.50/hour starting, negotiable depending on experience.
Performance Expectations - Essential Functions:
Uses 140 quart Hobart mixer to prepare spreads, etc.Prepares materials for cheese making (i.e. dishwashing, sanitizing all workspaces and equipment)Completes a variety of cheese making tasks (i.e. hand-forming, washing, bagging, ladling, flipping, molding etc.)Responsible for the storage of product in freezers, including proper labelingKeeps daily records for batch information and inventoryWashes dishesFollows all standard operating procedures and checklistsUses all equipment safelyKeeps a clean, safe and sanitary work areaFollows SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)Follows all Food Safety and HAACP policiesAttends and participates in huddles
Other Functions:
Cross trains and assists in other departments as neededAttends and participates in Zingerman's events and learnings
Physical demands are:
Standing, reaching, bending, stooping for long periods of timeAble to lift 50 pounds regularly, including overhead for high shelves
The Success Patterns for this position are:
Culinary degree or certification, or equivalent work experience preferred1-2 years of production or commercial kitchen experience preferredGood computer skillsAble to work in a wet environment
